The revised standard places greater emphasis on leadership accountability, ethical conduct, and quality culture. It also introduces a clearer distinction between risk and opportunity, and new supporting guidance under Annex A, while retaining the core structure organisations are already familiar with.
The Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) has been approved. Official publication is scheduled for 16 September 2026.
Certification to ISO 9001:2015 remains valid for the duration of the transition period, expected to run for approximately three years. Early training allows organisations to plan their transition proactively rather than under time pressure.
