• Understand the purpose, business and societal benefits of an Environmental Management System.
• Understand the context of ISO 14001 in the ISO 14000 series 
• Outline the structure and content of ISO 14001:2026 and its relationship with the Annex SL structure 
• Interpret the requirements of ISO 14001 in the context of an effective Environmental Management System
