Description

This course is designed to provide a foundational understanding of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and the requirements of International Organization for Standardization standard ISO 14001:2026. Participants will:

  • Learn the core principles of environmental management and the practices that support sustainable organisational performance.
  • Understand the purpose of an Environmental Management System (EMS), including its business, environmental, and societal benefits.
  • Gain awareness of the role of ISO 14001 within the broader ISO 14000 series of environmental management standards.
  • Explore the structure and key content of ISO 14001:2026 and its alignment with the Annex SL high-level structure used across ISO management system standards.
  • Develop the ability to interpret ISO 14001 requirements in the context of implementing and maintaining an effective EMS.

Note: This course does not cover the differences between ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 14001:2026. Participants seeking guidance on the changes between these versions should enrol in the ISO 14001:2026 Transition Essentials course.
